The Art of Passion: Lukas Piatek

More than just a platform

The Art of Passion is a blog dedicated to showcasing creative professionals big or small. It highlights their journey, from their early days to where they stand today, sharing their experiences, tips, and vision. More than just a platform, it’s a space to celebrate passion, dedication, and the stories behind the craft

Today, I have the honor of introducing none other than a true visionary, Photographer and SEO Coach Lukas Piatek. In his own words, he shares his vision, his journey, and the lessons he has learned along the way.

Why did you decide to become a photographer?

Why I became a photographer isn’t an easy question to answer because, in reality, it wasn’t a conscious decision. It was something that just happened. As a child, I dreamed of becoming a photographer, but I never thought it could turn into a career especially not as a wedding photographer. When you grow up, wedding photography isn’t the first thing that comes to mind.

Back then, I mainly focused on macro and landscape photography until, almost by chance, I ended up photographing a friend’s wedding. That was the moment when everything began.

From that point on, the path unfolded naturally. More and more people started asking me to photograph their weddings first friends, then friends of friends, and eventually complete strangers. At some point, I didn’t even have to make the decision anymore; it was made for me.

What inspires you?

My biggest source of inspiration comes from films and TV series especially how certain directors stage their scenes. Contrast, light and shadow, symmetry, leading lines these elements fascinate me. Often, during a wedding, a particular movie scene comes to mind, and I think: “I recognize this color scheme from a film, maybe I can incorporate something similar here.”

What makes your work unique?

That’s not so easy to answer perhaps my couples could describe it better than I can. But what I do know is this: many of my couples come from creative fields. Whether they’re photographers, artists, singers, actors, or graphic designers, they are people with a deep appreciation for aesthetics, art, and creativity.
These couples are drawn to my style of photography. It’s the interplay of light and shadow, asymmetric compositions, and leading lines that captivate them. At the same time, my images have a certain effortlessness genuine moments full of joy and laughter.

Maybe it’s this mix that makes my work stand out.

Which moments at weddings move you the most emotionally?

The first look between a bride and her father is always the most emotional moment for me. Ever since I became a father to a daughter three and a half years ago, I see this moment through a completely different lens. I can put myself in the father’s shoes—even though my own daughter is still little and her wedding is far in the future.

But just the thought of her standing in front of me one day in a wedding dress fills me with deep emotion. It warms my heart, and I already know that when that moment comes, I won’t be able to hold back my tears.

Your vision: What do you want to achieve as a photographer?

My goal is to create images that last forever photos that will still be viewed in 10, 20, 30, or even 100 years. I want the people who look at these photos to experience the wedding day exactly as it was with all its emotions, laughter, tears, and the life in every moment.

When I think about future generations, I realize that many of the people in my photos won’t always be here. But then, their grandchildren and great-grandchildren will look at these images and get to know their great-grandparents or even great-great-grandparents through them. I want them to think: “Wow, what incredible people! What an amazing wedding! What breathtaking photos!”

My wish is to create memories that stand the test of time photos that tell stories that never fade.

Three tips for couples looking for a wedding photographer

Take your time

Choosing a wedding photographer is one of the most important decisions in wedding planning. These photos will last a lifetime, so don’t rush the decision. Take your time researching, explore different photographers, and find someone whose style truly resonates with you.

Don’t cut corners on photography

Even though it might be tempting to save money here, wedding photography is unlike any other kind of photography. I’ve heard countless stories from couples who thought a hobbyist or a talented family member would be enough only to regret it later. A wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime event, and missed moments can’t be recreated. There are many areas where you can cut costs, but photography (and videography) shouldn’t be one of them.

Pay attention to chemistry

Your relationship with your photographer is crucial. This person will be with you all day, from the early preparations to the evening celebration. You should feel comfortable, get along well, and genuinely like each other. For me, it’s important not just to be a service provider but to be a kind of friend to the couple. That connection makes for a more relaxed atmosphere and leads to more authentic, emotional photos.
